  • Boutique wineries and breweries

    Tassie is known for it’s boutique food and wine experiences, and there’s plenty to be had close by. Prickly Mo is a short walk away and often has live music, as does Spreyton Cider Co - just a 7 minute drive away. Make a day of it, and also visit Seven Sheds Brewery and Barringwood Park Vineyard.     Nature & Wildlife

    A short drive away you will find Gunns Plains Caves and Wings Wildlife Park - a perfect family day trip. There is river and highland lake fishing (in season) and nearby Lake Barrington is the perfect spot for water sports and dropping a line.

    Our rivers and streams are home to platypus, so keep a lookout at sunset.

    Within a 25 minute drive you could be on a beautiful swimming beach at Turners Beach, The Bluff Devonport or Port Sorell. The Devonport Aquatic Centre is also a favourite for a family fun day. Tasmazia and The Village of Lower Crackpot is a must see and for the slightly more adventurous, mountain bike trails and hiking options abound!

    For those wanting to connect to the history and culture of our special place, there are lighthouses, maritime and car museums, art galleries, local farmers markets and so much more to discover. The local events calendar is full of Food and Wine festivals, Steamfest, Blues Fest and Devonport Jazz and so much more!

  • Quirky towns and villages

    Within a hour’s drive you can visit Sheffield, the town of murals and mazes or Latrobe, home of the Axemans Hall of Fame, platypus and the must see Reliquaire shop. Drive through Railton with it’s topiary gardens, or take a day trip to the quaint seaside village of Penguin where you can take a selfie with, you guessed it, the Big Penguin!
